Programs consist of intricate footwork, spins, and jumps. Competitors are encouraged to perform skills and choreography that demonstrates agility, dexterity, and grace.
Skaters represent the Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club at all levels of Singles competition from Basic Skills all the way through to the US Figure Skating National Qualifying Series.
For Singles skaters who do not wish to compete, AAFSC Pro Staff and Junior Staff are able to provide instruction on Singles elements and Skating Skills to prepare their students for success in the US Figure Skating’s test structure and/or AAFSC exhibition performances.

The National Qualifying Series (NQS) is an opportunity for skaters to compete and vie for top scores to advance to the Sectional Singles and U.S. Pairs and Ice Dance Finals, and then ultimately the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
National Development Camp is for the top performers in the Juvenile, Intermediate, and Novice levels at the U.S. Sectional Championships. The camp is held immediately following the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Qualifying athletes participate in a three-day educational training program to accelerate their exposure to High Performance Programs and Team USA. Athletes also have the opportunity to be selected for advanced Novice and Junior International competitions and other high performance programs and competitions at the conclusion of the camp.
We're so proud to have FIVE skaters qualify for the 2024 U.S Figure Skating National Development Camp
