High School Skating

Michigan High School Skating

Introduced in 1999, and continuing to grow every year, the Michigan High School Skating series offers great opportunities for skaters to participate in team sports and to be part of their school's athletic program. Starting with 10 teams and a single competition in 1999, we now field an annual roster of 40+ teams.

Ann Arbor United Team

The Ann Arbor United Team is composed of Freshman-Seniors from Pioneer, Huron, Skyline, and Community High School. Together they form an A, B, and C team based on Skating Skills and Freestyle levels. All members of our team are eligible for a Varsity letter through their affiliated high school. Our season consists of 3 district competitions, in which our skaters are assigned either a jump, spin, or Skating Skill (Move in the Field) element to showcase against other schools. The top 2 teams in each level (A,B,&C) will receive a bid to the Laura Maki High School State Championships. All skaters are eligible to compete in the individual portion of States as long as they were an active member of the team component throughout the season.
