Samantha Lang

Background:

Originally from Houston, Texas, Samantha began skating at the age of 7 at the Galleria mall in her local area. Then, at 13 years old, Samantha moved to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan to pursue competitive figure skating under the coaching instruction of Yuka Sato, Jason Dungjen, Alissa Czisny, and Jeremy Abbott. For 5 years, she represented the Detroit Skating Club, and she is a four time Regional Medalist and three time sectional competitor. Currently, Samantha is pursuing her BA in Public Policy at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, while also pursuing a minor in the Spanish language.

Experience:

Samantha first began as a teen assistant at the Detroit Skating Club in 2016, and was promoted to Teacher’s assistant in January of 2020. After the pandemic, she first joined AAFSC as a regular member in 2020, then became a Learn to Skate instructor of October of 2021. Samantha’s favorite aspect of coaching is sharing her passion and love of figure skating with her students.
