Kendra Porter

Background:

Kendra was a competitive skater for 16 years. She started skating at the Ann Arbor figure skating club when she was 4 years old and competed in all disciplines including freestyle, dance, pairs, and synchronized skating. Throughout her career she was able to qualify for the US Figure Skating National Championships 9 times in singles and pairs and competed internationally with Team USA on the Junior and Senior Grand Prix circuit. She is a 4 time national medalist including 2006 Junior pair national champion and also the 2006 Junior World silver medalist.

In 2011 Kendra was offered the lead role in the Disney on Ice production of “Dare to Dream”. She stayed with the company for over two years traveling the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This job not only allowed her to fulfill her dream of skating with a professional ice show, she also got to work with many charitable organizations including “Wigs for Kids” and “Make a Wish Foundation”.

In the spring of 2015 Kendra graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Communication Studies and Marketing.

Experience:

Kendra has over 7 years of coaching experience. She has coached numerous skaters at various levels in freestyle, moves in the field and pairs. Kendra’s favorite thing about teaching is being able to watch her students achieve their goals and being a part of the experience with them.
