Georgia Oppenheim

Georgia is from Connecticut and began skating around the age of 7. She skated competitively in Synchronized Skating and Singles with the Connecticut Skating Academy until she joined Hayden Recreation Centre Figure Skating Club in 2011. There, she became a 3x National Champion and 4x Eastern Sectional Champion at the Intermediate and Novice level until her retirement in 2015. During her competitive skating career, she was a learn to skate and synchronized skating camp coach.  

Since joining AAFSC as a Learn to Skate coach in July 2023, she has enjoyed helping skaters of different ages and skill levels build confidence, strengthen their technique, and work toward their individual skating goals. 

Outside the rink, Georgia is a doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan in Biological Anthropology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and Masters Degree from the University of Michigan.
