Kendra Porter

Background:

Kendra Pottenger is a former U.S. National and international competitive figure skater with over 16 years of competitive experience. She began skating at the Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club at the age of four and competed in every discipline, including singles, pairs, ice dance, and synchronized skating.

During her competitive career, Kendra qualified for the U.S. Figure Skating National Championships nine times in singles and pairs. She represented Team USA internationally on both the Junior and Senior Grand Prix circuits. Her accomplishments include four U.S. national medals, earning the title of 2006 U.S. Junior Pair National Champion and winning the silver medal at the 2006 Junior World Championships.

In 2011, Kendra was selected for the lead role in Disney on Ice’s Dare to Dream. She toured throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico for more than two years, fulfilling a lifelong dream of performing professionally while also partnering with charitable organizations such as Wigs for Kids and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Kendra graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Marketing.

Today, Kendra combines her elite competitive experience, professional performance background, and passion for athlete development to help skaters of all ages and levels reach their full potential. She is committed to building strong technical fundamentals, fostering confidence, and creating a positive training environment where every athlete can thrive.

 

Experience:

Kendra has more than 15 years of coaching experience working with skaters of all ages and skill levels. Throughout her coaching career, she has successfully developed athletes from their first steps on the ice to qualifying for national and international competitions. Her students have earned opportunities to compete at the highest levels of the sport, including U.S. Figure Skating National Championships, National High Performance and Development Camps, and international events. Kendra is passionate about helping each athlete reach their full potential through individualized training, strong technical fundamentals, and a positive, supportive coaching environment that builds confidence both on and off the ice.
