Learn to Skate
Basic skating skills are taught in a group setting to skaters from age 3 through adult. Groups are divided according to age and ability. Adult classes are included in all sessions. With eight or fewer skaters per coach, class sizes are the smallest in the Ann Arbor area. Our coaching staff is screened for the highest credentials to assure our quality of instruction. So bring your friends and family to the AAFSC to learn skating fundamentals in a safe and fun environment.
For skaters advancing beyond the initial Learn-to-Skate class structure, the Shooting Stars sessions are offered as a transitional program to help skaters move smoothly towards individualized instruction.
Interested group skaters are eligible to compete in any of several Basic Skills competitions held annually throughout Michigan and the US. Ann Arbor FSC hosts a Basic Skills competition each year in late Spring/early Summer.
